Web masters start the optimization work of the internet site, much before it is going launched, to ensure that when the website is launched, it is already somewhere in the search engines for the users to find it. This technique is known as the Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
I read that the definition of SEO on Wikipedia is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results.
As an internet marketing strategy, SEO is important key for a website as it provides best exposure, increased traffic and improve click results too. It considers how search engines work and what people search for. Search engines are one of the important ways that Internet users find websites. That’s why a website with good search engine listings may find an amazing dramatic increase in traffic.
Of course, the search engines doesn’t constantly find it right. Non-relevant pages get it through, and sometimes it may take a little more digging to find what you are looking for. But search engines do an amazing task.
Beginning with ‘keywords’, it must be keywords that are reliable for the ranking of the web sites. The most relevant keyword that meets the requirement of the web site, is used to optimize the site in the search engine, and it is the sit too ranks for the same keyword. An improper usage of keywords might lead in poor performance of the site on the search engines, which will obviously hamper the whole work process.
Promoting a website to increase the number of inbound links or backlinks, is another SEO tactic. Optimizing a website can involve editing its web content and HTML or other coding to increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove limitation of indexing activities on search engines.
This is just a beginning. We can discuss more about SEO on my next post.
